What do you use to do your fabulous eye makeup?
It’s Makeup Forever black liquid eyeliner and MAC Bone eyeshadow.
How do you get your eyebrows so perfect?
I get them threaded once every six months and then I just tweeze them myself.
Why do you love threading?
I always broke out when I did waxing. I did it myself for the most part, but threading really gives them a nice shape.
Do you have a specific place that you go, or do you just go anywhere?
I usually go to this place on 23rd and 6th Avenue, called The Perfect Shape Threading Salon.
What do you do?
I’m a freelance editor, and I just had an interview at this boutique.
Do you have a specialty or focus in your editing?
Right now I’m working on a comedy short, but usually I do documentaries.
How does it feel to be working on a comedy when your subject matter is usually more serious?
It’s actually a relief. I was working for NBC News, so that was pretty intense and a little depressing after a while. Working for a comedy is fun, it’s entertaining.
Do you have any filmmakers that you admire that we should know about?
Jim Jarmusch, Scorsese. I’m excited to see the new Batman film.
Was there a defining moment in terms of you choosing your professional path?
That’s a good question. I think maybe watching Trembling Before G-d, this documentary about homosexual Hasidics that really blew my mind.
Why that film?
It was edited by one of my professors, and I was really inspired to be taking a class with her and getting a chance to see what she was working on in real life. It was a very powerful documentary about a fringe group of people.
And what is it you like best about your job?
I get to make my own hours, I get to work at home, I get to pick up random jobs now and then, like working at this boutique. It’s just fun, honestly.
Where do you live?
I live in Williamsburg.
What’s your favorite place to hang out there right now?
Hotel Delmano.
What are you reading right now?
I’m reading the Game of Thrones series.
Why do you like it?
I love fantasy. I’ve been watching the HBO series, and I wanted to read the books as well.
What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?
Don’t try to impress anyone, because they’re not really that interested. Just be yourself.
