How fun is this little owl bag? I love it when people have a sense of humor.

When I started doing my 365 photo project my original idea had been to push myself to take pictures of things other than people. Although I briefly stepped away from the whole fashion thing, to do some nature stuff, I went back to shooting people, even if I wasn’t showing their faces, or focusing on an accessory rather than a whole outfit. (I can’t help it–I’m drawn to clothes.) I was cleaning my apartment recently and found an interview with Annie Leibowitz about her book Pilgrimage. And I was reminded of the whole notion of making portraits without people in them. So I played around with that a bit this weekend.

I just loved the two doors in the photo above. They seemed so sad and beautiful and lonely and eternal. I like imagining that there are love letters inside them (written with quill pens, of course), waiting to be received. A touch of the Victorian.
