The weather here has been moody this week, lots of wind and mist and full-on rain. And as it turns out, I’m feeling kind of moody myself today. So I thought I’d honor my frame of mind by posting some moody pictures. I’ll run my trend piece next week.
A cheesy book I read many years ago (I can’t remember the title now) identified the time of day above as l’heure bleue. I don’t know if the French actually refer to twilight that way (and I’m too exhausted to look it up right now), but the phrase has always stuck in my mind.
I have no idea why I adore the photograph above so much, but I do. If I’m alone in that love, I don’t care, I’m posting it anyway. Today I feel like this girl is a modern-day Jane Eyre, aloof and quiet, roaming the streets of San Francisco rather than the moors of the English countryside. I can’t tell whether or not she’s recently had her heart broken, but I’m going to hope–for her sake anyway–that the answer is no.
