When I was in Paris over the summer, I noticed people wearing gigantic headphones in crazy colors. And then, when I returned to San Francisco, I noticed a similar trend. Well, it turns out that I was onto something, since the New York Times styles page has an article today about Beats, a line of headphones created by Dr. Dre. According to the Times, Dr. Dre is “the sonic architect of gangsta rap,” a characterization which, in my mind at least, certainly qualifies him to design headphones. The headphones are expensive, around $350 a pair, but they do look very cool. And the holidays are right around the corner.
