My friend Carrie and I are all about overlap. We lived in the same town for a while and attended the same middle school at the same time, but didn’t meet until many years later, in San Francisco. I went to boarding school with someone who is a good friend of hers from college, and that same friend of hers is close to a close friend of mine from college. There’s probably another connection or two that I’m forgetting, but you get the picture.

Shirt: Sanctuary Clothing. Shorts: Taikonhu. Flats: London Sole. Necklace: Jennifer Tuton.
Carrie is the SF Money Coach, which means that she helps people create healthy relationships with money (she’s really good at it). She loves her job, which isn’t surprising, given her life philosophy, which is, “Create your own happiness.”

Dress: Sunhee Moon. Booties: John Fluevog.
Carrie describes her style as “preppy classic with a mix of yoga teacher Bohemian.” She says, “I also spend a large amount of time in tennis clothes.” At one point we discussed photographing her in her tennis whites, but in our excitement about all of her cute dresses, we forgot.

Dress: Betsey Johnson. Shoes: John Fluevog.
In life, Carrie values friends, laughter, children, nature and music. I’m particularly appreciative of her passion for music, because every year for Christmas she makes her friends a mix, and it’s always awesome.

Dress and sash: Lilly Pulitzer.
