Streetstyle: Michelle Lau

It has been a big weekend: Same-sex marriage was legalized in New York state. Gay pride was celebrated all over the country. My friend MeiMei moved to Los Angeles to be with the man who is the love of her life (you can read her Huffington Post blog post for more deets on her inspiring story). And yours truly had two photo shoots in a row on Saturday afternoon. Oy vey.

How much do I love this outfit? Let me count the ways: shorts, leather leggings, a button-down shirt that resembles a painter's smock I wore in elementary school, navy blue booties and a hat--did I leave anything out? Oh my god. True sartorial bliss.

Although I ran into Michelle Lau in LA, she’s actually from Australia. Believe me when I tell you that her accent was as awesome as her outfit. I’ve never been to Australia, but perhaps it’s time to go.
