This week’s installment of “Two Styley Friends, Two Styley Outfits” has a plot twist: Ana Zaharia and Alexandra Canter, two young ladies I photographed while they were eating lunch at La Boulange in Hayes Valley, turned out to be students in fashion design at California College for the Arts (CCA). And so it was that I scored a VIP ticket to the CCA graduation fashion show last Friday night. Go me!

The elements in these two outfits are simple: tank tops, black legs, metallic shoes, and pocketbooks patterned with rosettes. Ana’s style is a little more girly (as you’ll see, her design sensibility is very much a product of her personal style), while Alexandra is a little more rock-and-roll (ditto).
On Ana–
Tank: Rituel. Top: BCBG. Leggings: Lululemon. Shoes: Me Too. Bag: Valentina.
On Alexandra–
Shirt: Aqua. Leggings: BDG. Shoes: Aldo.
Friday night I went with a lady look (hmm…perhaps an outfit post is in order?): silk polka dot Joseph dress, knee-high brown boots from Theory, a brown crewneck from the Gap, and a Ragdoll Hearts pin by my friend Janis Echeverria. Camera in tow, I headed out for the CCA campus, which is absolutely stunning. The reception had delicious food, and I was allowed backstage, so to speak, where I took what felt like thousand of pictures, many of which will appear here and on my Tumblr later this week, so keep checking back.
During the show I sat on the floor (which was very cold) like a real photographer. Ana’s collection, entitled “Flora,” came out first:

Alexandra’s collection, “All Tomorrow’s Parties,” is named after a great song from a classic album. Given the title, it’s fitting that she would design clothes to wear to those parties.

Stay tuned for more from the show. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy what’s here!
