Streetstyle: San Francisco is wearing…purple!

Welcome to the second installment in my new “San Francisco is Wearing” series, inspired by The New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham. This week purple was without a doubt the color preferred by residents of the City by the Bay. See for yourself.

First up, Colette Waissman, the youngest person in the group to rock the trend:

Nothing says styley like a violet knit hat.

Danielle Curtis, who I accosted at Costco, is simply more evidence that you can find style anywhere if you’re looking for it:

Lovely in lavender.

Here’s Stephanie Lindsay, a true jack of all trades–actress, bass player, art model, pizza maker:

A purple bandana makes a cool head wrap.

Danae Kamdar, a stay-at-home mom, wears a scarf from India and a sweater and top from Nordstrom. She’d just had her hair done when I accosted her on Union Street, so she could hardly say no to my pleas for a picture:

Purple three layers deep: cardigan, scarf, T-shirt. I admire her commitment!

And last but not least, Brittany Burgraff, very talented fashion designer, whose incredible designs appeared in my Friday post:

What goes best with a purple dress? Purple flowers, of course.

Want to get on the purple train? Check out the tasty offerings on display at Seams Boutique, 1640 Union Street, between Franklin and Gough. Their selection is truly grape-tastic.
