Last night I went to the launch party for Refinery 29 San Francisco. The truly gorgeous assembly of people gathered at Sloane on Van Ness and Mission made me super-psyched about just how much style there is in this town. As Vicki Gunvalson from The Real Housewives of Orange County likes to say, “Woo-hoo!”

Meet Nida Thaingthan. I loved her mix of sweet and saucy: the long taffeta skirt and lace bustier were perfectly balanced by the harder edge of the chains on her shoulder and wrist. Buster: Nasty Gal. Skirt: vintage. Belt: vintage. Bling: Litter SF.

Style blogger Jennie Lodge–check out her blog, Going West–just oozed 70s glamour. Braids and a fringed jacket are like chocolate and peanut butter: two great tastes that go great together. Jacket: eBay. Bustier: Aritzia. Jeans: Levi’s. Necklace and rings: Low Luv by Erin Wasson. Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs.

A few days ago, I read about fashion blogger Laura Ellner (check out her blog, On the Racks) in 7×7 magazine. So I was totally thrilled to discover she was the girl in the awesome peach dress that I’d wanted to photograph but had initially been too afraid to ask. Dress: vintage. Shoes: Jessica Simpson.

I ran into Britt Stephens, editorial assistant at Sugar, Inc. on my way out of the party. I liked the way she turned a simple striped shirt into nightware by combining it with sparkly leggings and a dramatic necklace. Top: Zara. Leggings and necklace: Forever 21.
Thanks, Refinery 29! And rock on, San Francisco!
