Streetstyle: Betsey Shelley

I saw Betsy as I was walking out of the gym. I risked life and limb running across the street to stop her. I have no doubt that my effort was worth it:

Look at the array of trends in this outfit! Polka dots, print-maxing (a little play on words never hurt anyone),and a dash of red--woo-hoo!

Polka dot skirt: Forever 21. Sunglasses: Kate Spade. Coat: Me-Jane. Bag: Tokidoki by LeSportsac. Shoes: Nicole. Tights: Spanx.

What outfit can't be helped by a bit of bling?

Betsy is a shopgirl at a vintage boutique. She lives in the Marina/Cow Hollow area of San Francisco, and cites a wide variety of style influences: Alice in Wonderland, DC Comics, fairy tales, 60s English mod, space-age aesthetics, Strawberry Shortcake, Lula magazine, mermaids, dreams, and the Mad Hatter.

Apparently Strawberry Shortcake has undergone a radical transformation since my last interaction with her, so I include both versions here for comparison (old is on the left, new on the right):
